Существует три типа аудита: первичный, вторичный и третичный. Первичный аудит предполагает внутренний аудит. Аудиты второго и третьего уровней могут повлечь за собой сертификацию: сертификация может проводиться только на основании документа, содержащего соответствующие требования.
