This document specifies the quality-discrimination method of optical disks and operating method of storage-system for long-term digital data preservation using optical disk and optical disk drives. It specifies combination of recordable optical disk and drive used for long-term data preservation, quality-discrimination criteria of recordable optical disk and operation method of long-term storage system, quality test of read-only optical disk and operation method of long-term storage system and quality-discrimination criteria adopting Defect Management on BD Recordable disk.
