Bridging the gap by 2030

The ISO Strategy 2030 Goal 3: ‘All Voices Heard” is an important part of advancing inclusivity and diversity in the ISO system. To achieve this, ISO has been gathering data on gender and age representation in ISO’s technical committees, which will help ISO to establish a baseline and monitor change over time. Doing this will help us monitor our progress towards achieving ISO’s strategic objectives, as well as United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5).

Young women are more represented in standardization than young men; however, as ISO experts age, the trend shifts and older men significantly outnumber women .
