The Instituto Nacional de Normalización (INN) is a private foundation created by the Corporación de Fomento de la Producción (CORFO) in 1973. It is the legal successor of INDITECNOR (Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Tecnológicas Y Normalización), founded in 1944.
The Instituto Nacional de Normalización is in charge of three main functions in quality field dealing with the development of technical standards at national level, the management of the National Accreditation System and the coordination of a National Metrological Network. Additionally, INN makes the promotion of these three activities through sales of standards, training activities and technical publications.
INN participates in international standardization as the Chilean national body.
